How killer of UNIBEN fresh graduate was nabbed in Delta

The suspected killer of the graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Glory Adekolure has been arrested in Delta State, where he was hiding.

The suspected killer, Happy Godwin who hails from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, confessed to have killed four young girls thus far. He said after killing Glory Adekolure, he went into hiding.

Following the ultimatum given to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye by the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act, the commissioner of police said the suspect has been traced to Igbuzo in Delta State where he was arrested.

Recall that Adekolure was said to have gone to school (UNIBEN) for her final clearance on June 13, 2024, but her remains were found under a tree on a street in the lyowa Community of Benin City, the Edo State capital.

It will also be recalled that in a statement, the Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, had expressed shock and sadness over the incident, noting that the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has ordered the State Commissioner of Police to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly and unconscionable act within the next seven days.

CP Adegboye said the suspect is yet to be paraded, adding that investigation is still ongoing into the incident.

According to the CP, the suspect confessed to the killings of four young girls.
