Police To Arraign 2 Lesbians  As 4 Others Flee From Community

The Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police has announced plans to arraign two lesbians who were arrested in a remote hotel by policemen on a night patrol during a coordinated  raids of hideouts and dark spots in the state .

The two lesbians are Bridget Imade and Loveth Okoro both from Edo State.

The Command in a statement made available to journalists in Benin City disclosed that the two girls were arrested after a tip-off by an unnamed source who reside close to the remote hotel .

According to the statement, the remote hotel (name withheld) was one of the  safe haven in the state where young girls in their prime  secretly indulge in wild night parties under the direct influence of substance abuse and alcoholism.

Bridget Imade and Loveth Okoro, according to the statement, were caught and arrested in the act of same-sex practice under the darkness of the night behind one of the hotel buildings when the policemen raided the remote hotel on May 25th and were immediately taken away, the statement added .

The statement noted that the two lesbians who are assisting the police in apprehending other members of the  group made confessional statement after incriminating evidence including nude and group sex pictures on phones were discovered as different sex toys were also said to have been found in their possession.

Amongst the names of other members  discovered in the nude and group sex pictures implicated by the two arrested lesbian girls are Ero Beatrice, Gaizer Isoken Nancy, Patricia Egharevba and Anita Pedro.

Meanwhile the command in the statement further said that while the 2 female lesbian suspects under interrogation confessed to the crime of same-sex practice which is in clear violation of the Same-sex Act of 2014, plans are already underway to commence with the  prosecution of the case in line with  relevant sections of the Act following the completion of investigation into the case.

The statement disclosed that  while the 4 lesbian girls had been declared wanted by the Nigerian police, a manhunt has been launched in synergy with other security agencies and  local vigilante to apprehend other fleeing members of the lesbians  involved in the prohibited and sacrilegious act of same-sex practice within and outside the state as members of the public have been told to provide any useful information that may lead to the arrest of the fleeing lesbians or report same at any nearby police station for a handsome reward.

Meanwhile, an unscheduled  visit to the different places of residence of the 4 fleeing lesbians revealed that all 4 girls had abandoned their families and fled from their respective communities as a direct measure to escape the full wrath of the law .

In Nigeria, violation of the Same-sex Act 2014 attracts a minimum of 10 years Imprisonment upon conviction.
