Bad governance caused IPOB agitations – Anambra guber aspirant

As days of the governorship primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State approaches, one of the aspirants seeking the ticket, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo has attributed bad governance as reason for the ongoing agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Onunkwo, however, gave the assurance that if given opportunity as the next governor of the state will provide what he described as “digital governance”, which will bring about good governance.
Speaking at the National Secretariat Wednesday in Abuja, when he came to return his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms, Onunkwo said he is not intimidated by some so called money bags contesting the ticket with him.
When asked about IPOB declaration that election will not hold in Anambra state, he said, “I cannot be perturbed and I cannot be disturbed, because what brought IPOB is bad governance. If government is transparent, if government is accountable, if government can touch lives, IPOB will disappear.
“I am not intimidated by money bags contesting the APC ticket with me. Anambra state people do not believe in money bags. Once they know you are not good, people will collect your money and leave you. So, our records are there for everybody to see”.
Also, another aspirant, Dr Obinna Uzoh, said that he is the most qualified person to emerge the party’s flag bearer and win the November 18 governorship election arguing that experience in both public and private life stands him out from other aspirants.
On the arrangement by the party to pick a consensus candidate, he said: “Any arrangement by my party is welcome by me because I am a party man and I will always agree with my party’s decision. So, if the decision of my party is to pick a sole candidate, I need no fear because I am of the believe that if one person will be chosen, it will be me”.
Asked if he has any regret leaving PDP, he said: “The constitution of Nigeria says that every candidate must run a party as its platform. I contest for governor on the platform of National Democratic Party (NDP) in 2003, thereafter I joined PDP 2014. I left PDP for APC when it was formed. I am happy to be with the APC and I am happy to have dethroned the former government of the PDP which I have no regrets”.
