INEC Declares Melaye Winner of Kogi West

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the former House of Representatives member, Honourable Dino Melaye as the Winner of Kogi West Senatoral district seat.

The who scored a total of 41,126 votes to defeat the incumbent Senator Smart Adeyemi who pulled 38, 148 votes to come second while the arrow head of Yagba agenda scored only 26,198 votes.

With the results from the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, all the three incumbent lost their bid to return to National Assembly,While only three House of Representatives were lucky to win the seat during the contest.

They are Senator Smart Adeyemin representing Kogi West, Senator Attai Aidoko for the East and Senator Nurudeen Abatemi who contested on the platform of PPA

In a related development the APC candidate for Kogi central senatoral district and former Senator, Senator Mohammed Ohiare has won the seat with wide margin pulling 55,776 votes.

While the PDP candidates and Former Chairman of Okene Local Government, Honourable Hammed Salihu Ogembe scored 42,738 votes to come second the fiercely contested election.

It was reliably gathered that All progressive Congress Candidate , Alhaji abdulrahman Abubarka Abdullahi defeated the incumbent senator Attai Aidoko Ali by pulling a total of 98,994 votes.

The PDP candidate who gave his opponent a good fight scored 88,984 votes.

Prior to the election, much attention were paid to some of the winners given the high tide Kogi PDP as a ruling Party,hower the Buhari/APC tsunami eroded away the PDP winning in Kogi state.

Source told National Mirror that All Progressive Congress also won six out ,ine seats in the last Saturday election.

Earlier, the Kogi State Returning for Presidential election , Professor Micheal Adukwu announced that the Presidential Candidate, General Mahammadu Buhari scored a total 264,851, the PDP candidate president Goodluck Jonathan scored 149,937 votes .

The Presidential result in kogi Showed that APC had won in 15 and PDP 6 local government councils of the state.
