Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, has ordered the immediate redeployment of six deputy inspectors-general of police, five assistant inspectors-general of police and six commissioners of police.
The Police boss decision was contained in a statement signed by the acting commissioner of police and police spokesman, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu on Thursday.
According to Ojukwu, the adjustment in the police hierarchy is to further reposition the force for a successful conduct of the 2015 general election.
The redeployment of the senior officers is coming a few weeks after 33 commissioners of police were redeployed.
This will be the third shake-up in the police since the appointment of Abba as IGP in August 2014.
The redeployed officers and their new postings are;
Dan’Azumi Doma, DIG – Coordinator southeast zone
Mamman Tsafe, DIG – Coordinator south-south zone
Hashimu Argungu,DIG – Coordinator southwest zone
Christopher Katso, DIG – Coordinator northwest zone
Hilary Opara, DIG – Coordinator northeast zone
Adeola Adeniji, DIG – Coordinator north central zone
Kalafite Adeyemi, AIG – Asst Coordinator southwest zone
Bala Magaji Nasarawa, AIG – Asst Coordinator north central zone
Adisa Bolanta, AIG – Asst Coordinator North West zone
Usman Gwary, AIG Federal Operations (FEDOPS) Abuja
Mark Idakwo, AIG – Zone 9 Umuahia
Hosea Karma – CP Rivers state command
Adamu Mohammed – CP Anambra state command
Dan Bature – CP Enugu state command
Usman Abdullahi – CP Katsina state command
