I Didn’t Leave Timaya’s Dem Mama Label – Patoranking

The question whether fast rising act, Patoranking has left Timaya’s Dem Mama record label, has before now been on the lips of everyone in the last one year especially after Timaya allegedly granted an interview where he accused Patoranking of simply walking away from the label. Life & Times got in touch with Patoranking where he debunked the story, saying he is still part of the record label. According to him, Timaya’s label is like family to him and that he never left the label like people thought. “There was no time I left Dem Mama record label. I am still part of the family because Timaya is my big brother. If there was any misunderstanding, why did he feature me in one of his videos last year?” Asked the reason behind the rumour, Patoranking said it was because of the deal he signed with an international record label, VP Music.

“I guess the rumour started because of the record deal I recently signed with VP Music. VP saw me and recognized the potential in me. They wanted me, I answered their call. It doesn’t mean Timaya and I are now enemies,” he said. Patoranking has been the poster boy of the dancehall genre in Nigeria since 2013 with singles Alubarika, Girlie O, and Girlie O remix featuring Tiwa Savage.
