PDP hails Appeal Court judgement on Kano guber candidate

The People Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed a Court of Appeal judgement restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from dropping the name of its governorship candidate in Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf from contesting Saturday’s election.

The party said Yusuf remains the bona-fide Kano state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the March 9 election.

“The order of the Court of Appeal on Thursday restraining INEC from removing the name of Abba Yusuf from the list, as the governorship candidate for the PDP, has completely put to rest all controversies regarding the PDP candidate for the election.

“The Court of Appeal is commended for delivering justice by upholding the lawful nomination Abba Yusuf as the PDP candidate for the Kano state governorship election,” the party said in a statement.

It advised all stakeholders to note the order of the appeallate court and be guided accordingly.
