iPOB youth mobilizer runs to escape arrest as police raids his apartment

Pandemonium erupted in Abia State when a man identified as Frank Ifeanyi Okafor reportedly fled and abandoned his community over fears of being arrested as operatives of the Abia State Command of the Nigerian Police raided his apartment to effect his arrest, it was confirmed.
Residents of the community in Abia were said to have scampered for safety as the operatives marched towards the apartment of a known and active member of the proscribed IPOB who on several occasions actively participated in mobilizing others for series of protestsIt will be recalled that operatives of the Abia State Command of the Nigerian Police have been on the hunt for killers of 2 policemen suspected to be IPOB members who attacked the convoy of the commissioner for trade, commerce and industry during a tour of all the markets in Abia in July 2023 while a Hilux van was reportedly set ablaze by the unknown gunmen.
The operatives of the Abia State Command of the Nigerian Police were said to have conducted a search of his apartment at Njoku street in Aba and recovered some IPOB memorabilia which includes uniforms, shirt, flags with the symbol of the rising sun.
Frank Ifeanyi Okafor who led several protests in Abia State, was said to have not been at his home at no.9.Njoku Street Aba North when operatives of the Nigerian Police stormed his apartment for his arrest as it was gathered that the Command had embarked on a massive clampdown on members of the proscribed IPOB group which also led to the arrest of others in different parts of the state.
However, 4 other members who include Chidi Nwaneri, Stanley Manuel, Chimaronke Nwabuzor and Ezekiel Okonkwo were reportedly arrested by the operatives in different parts of the state as the Command further intensified efforts to arrest more members including the fleeing Frank Ifeanyi Okafor.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the Abia Command of the Nigerian Police said that in its renewed efforts to rid the state of all forms of criminalities, the command had launched a massive clampdown on members of the outlawed IPOB responsible for several violent attacks in the region.
The statement further added that efforts have been intensified to apprehend one Frank Ifeanyi Okafor known as an aggressive mobilizer for the proscribed IPOB in all the protests in Abia State adding that the measure became imperative after the protest of July 2023 which led to the gruesome murder of 2 policemen by unknown gunmen in the state .
