Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Nasarawa State chapter would laugh longer after over two mouths strike by the Union, as the state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has promised to address all lingering issues in the sector.
Governor Almakura, gave the assurance in a reconciliatory meeting with delegations from the National Headquarters of the Union in Lafia yesterday.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Silas Agara, said he was impressed with the approach by the national leadership towards addressing the problem with the union.
According to him, “now that the national leader has taken a new step,” the lingering strike would come to an end.
He assured them that, “in two days time,” the government would meet with the CJ, officials of the union and other Senior judges with the view of addressing the menace.
Earlier, Maruan Mustapher-Adamu, National President of JUSUN said the visit in the state was aimed at resolving issues surrounding the two months old strike by their state chapter.
“We have resolved all misunderstanding and misinformation being spread to escalate the problem by the enemies of the state.
“We have taken responsibility for the mistakes by our members during the protest on November 13.
“We also expect the management of the Judiciary and the government to reverse the dismissal of some our members in order to end the strike,” the President added.
He therefore also assured members that the union would ensure that nobody was victimized for participating in the strike.
Recall that the union embarked on an indefinite strike since Nov. 13, 2018 to demand for better welfare for members.
Checks revealed that the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission on Nov. 26, 2018 dismissed 20 officials of the union for their roles in the ongoing strike.
