Female Circumcision Allegedly Claims One Life
It’s was a sad day for the family of Oaimen of Sobo – Ora Community in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
When Eyewitness report has it that a woman was beheaded in a pool of her blood, the precarious situation has throned the family into an emotional turmoils and indescribable pain.
A source closed to the family who doesn’t want his names on print, spoke to our crime desks at sabo – ora, who stated that the situation would have happened longtime ago if not the woman runaway with the daughter, he said that no female born of their community that is not being circumcised.
He heightened that is a taboo for a female born of their community not to be circumcised, its bring bad omens to the family and the community at large.
He maintained that the beheaded woman Mrs G. Oaimen, who is the mother of loveth Oaimen, knew it quite well that is custom and tradition of the community that any female babies born in the community must been circumcised, but she took it upon herself to commit the sacrilege in the community, that must be done, must be done.
emphasized that the late woman knew it that the blood of the offender is usually been used for the rituals of cleansing of the land. This responsibility is being carryout by the groups of (voodoo) the ritualists in the community.
He revealed that the father of the lady in question Mr P. Oaimen is a very dangerous man and he was a member of the occultic group, the other daughter died in the process of circumcising her sometime ago, their father alway maintained that all his female born must be circumcised not even when it’s is the turn of his family to takeover headship of the group of circumcisions which the daughter loveth Oaimen is the next leader the source stated.
Our investigation also revealed that recently the occultic group have distributed photographs of loveth Oaimen to their various group in the country to look for loveth and bring her home to assume her rightful position in the community which she had rightly refused because of her Christian faith.
Meanwhile the lady who has since disappeared from the community sometime ago, she is still nowhere to be found as at the time of filling in this report.
