Legacy Initiative International, Civil Society Organisation(CSO) has urged Nigerians irrespective of their religious faith to take active part in Monday’s national prayer session at noon against the coronavirus (vivid-19) ravaging the world.
The Patron of the group, Dr Kenny Martins in a statement re-affirmed that the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Mohammadu Sa’adu Abubakar and the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi are to lead the prayer session in their domains.

“I call on Nigerians both at home and abroad to go on their knees in prayer at noon today against the virus currently ravaging the whole world,” he said.
The CSO said that the prayer session which will last 10 minutes is in observance of the declaration of Monday, April 6 as National Prayer Day.
“We will for 10 by minutes at that precise hour, (noon) stop everything we are doing anywhere we are and enter the special prayer session.
“We will all go on our knees and pray for God’s intervention in the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, seek God’s mercy and healing of our land, the nation, our leaders, our families and the world.” he said
Martins said for the past three months, COVlD 19. has become a pandemic of monumental proportion and has killed thousands of people all over the world.
“We have been in consultation with our religious leaders in the country including Sultan of Sokoto, President of the Supreme council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and leader of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Alhaji Mohammadu Sa’adu Abubakar lll as well as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Rev Dr Supo Ayokunle.
”We have also consulted with traditional authorities including His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife and rulers from other parts of the country on the need to have a National Day of Prayers and each of the leaders has given support to the prayers.
“In the light of the foregoing, we are appealing to all Nigerians, home and abroad irrespective of their religious beliefs and practise, to participate fully in the prayer by noon today .
“We urge our people to pray and give glory to God for His mercy and continuous protection for the World, our nation, leaders and families in this very difficult and perilous tlmes.
“We also plead with them to continue to maintain the recommended stay at home order and social distancing.
“All members of Legacy and all people of goodwill should as much as possible prevail on all Nigerians and lovers of Nigeria wherever they are for this very important prayers for divine healing for all the sick anywhere in the world”, Kenny Martins pleaded.
