Abaji residents commend process as elections wind down

Residents of Abaji in FCT have commended the hitch-free Presidential and National Assembly polls in the area. They also commended security operatives in particular for ensuring peaceful conduct of the polls. Oche Francis, a voter, expressed joy over the situation that there was no snatching of ballot boxes, security breaches or malfunctioning of card readers, adding however that he was sad to have spent over two hours before the arrival of INEC officials to start the election on time.
“The only annoying thing is the late arrival of INEC officials and the materials. They, however, later apologised and we have accepted their apology. All the same we thank God that we have not recorded any negative incident within this area as election is still ongoing,’’ he said.
Voters at the Abaji South East ward also applauded security operatives for ensuring a smooth voting process. Umar Mahmood said, “I am so elated that we have finished voting and there were no security breaches despite the tense campaigns. We pray for a leader that will move our country forward in a peaceful and prosperous atmosphere,” he said.
