Navy School Commandant visits NCC, solicit support to establish e-Library

The Commandant of Nigerian Navy School of Health Sciences, Offa, Kwara State, Navy Captain ID Nuruddeen has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC) to solicit the Commission’s support to establish e-Library project at the School.

Director Public Affairs at NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo received the Commandant accompanied by Lt. Commander Ignatius Ikhide and his team on behalf of Management of the Commission.

Captian Nuruddeen told the Management of the Commission that the Naval School of Health Sciences, established in 2007, is a structure of many departments focusing on many areas in its purview and also focusing on scientific research, hence the need for enabling infrastructure in terms of robust Internet and E-Library to support the school’s strive in research and innovation.

He stated that the prospect of E-Library for the growth and development of the Institution includes enabling an information rich as well as knowledge and sharing of ideas among students and lecturers in the School.

The Director Public Affairs told the visitors that the Commission and one of its departments, USPF, set up to democratise access to communication services, have been very supportive of many educational institutions, NGOs and communities at different levels in the provision of ICT facilities.

He assured the Commandant that he will forward his request to Management of the Commission for consideration.
The Commandant later underscored the essence of series of awards NCC has received with a presentation of another award of recognition to the Nigerian Communications Commission for the role NCC has been playing in the deployment of ICT infrastructure across Nigeria and as a leading regulator in the country.

The award was received on behalf of the Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Danbatta, by Mr. Tony Ojobo.
