2025 ITN Mass Distribution Campaign: 340 ad-hoc personnel trained to conduct distribution campaign

As part of measures to eliminate the scourge of Malaria, the Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Chinye has launched the 2025 insecticides Treated Nets (ITNs) mass distribution campaign.

The Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Chinye who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Nneka Dibie said that the distribution of the ITNs, was part of his administration’s vision to rebuild Aniocha North Local Government Area with more gains in line with the State Governor’s MORE Agenda .

Hon. Chinye disclosed that the three Federal Wards, viz Issele-Uku 1, Issele-Uku 2, and Onicha Ugbo were not targeted for the Net distribution due to low malaria prevalence, adding that vulnerable groups could access ITNs through antenatal care and immunization clinics.

He however enjoined stakeholders including Councilors, Royal fathers, and the Clergy to encourage families to redeem their nets and use them regularly to prevent Malaria.

He used the medium to congratulate his wife, Mrs. Tina Chinye on her appointment as the Net Advocate, and reminded her that as part of her responsibilities, she needs to consistently create and spread awareness about the benefits of the ITNs among the populace.

The Chairman urged the Health team to monitor the distribution campaign closely to ensure its success in the Council Area.

In her response as the Net Advocate, Mrs. Chinye appreciated the Federal Ministry of Health, Delta State Ministry of Health, Aniocha North Local Government Council, and the Roll Back Malaria Partners for choosing her for the role.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Aniocha North Local Health Authority, Dr. Anthony Okolo, disclosed that a total of 70,200 pieces of bed nets had been received with 69,150 already placed in distribution points, and over 340 ad-hoc personnel trained to conduct the distribution campaign.
