Wife of Kwara Dep Gov bags awards of excellency in Togo
The wife of deputy governor, Kwara state, Mrs. Felicia Kisira, has bagged an award of African Trinity University, on Leadership and Financial Management.
The Leaders and Financial Managers in Africa have been enjoined to imbibe the spirit of teamwork and collaboration with other sectors, in order to move the continent forward.
The statement was made by the African Regional Dean of American Trinity University California, U.S.A., Professor Busari Akande while delivering a lecture titled “Leadership Training, Financial Managers, and Reporting,” in Lome, the Togolese capital.
The University don said the market in Africa is wide enough for financial managers to excel and the environment is conducive enough for the leaders in Africa to move the continent forward if the spirit of team work, judicious management of the resources and collaboration with other private sector is imbibed.
During the program, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Kisira, opined that humility, dedication, focus, and judicious usage of resources are the instruments that the leaders can use to excel.Also one of the awardees Dr. Maruf Salam- the Kwara State Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress said that the African continent is blessed with tourist centres and cultural artefact. He said if the two sectors are explored the African continent will be far better than the European continent.
The Daily Times correspondent, who was part of the trip, reports that dignitaries across the African continent were conferred with honorary doctorates, among them is also the Kwara state Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), a former Presidential aspirant in Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Dam-Musa, Commissioner for Establishment Cross-Rivers state and Chief AchinekaIgwe Sunday.
