Why latest Windows 10 could break VPN of 50m users

Microsoft has confirmed that its latest Windows 10 update could break Virtual Private Networks (VPN) .The software giant says the problem affects the Remote Access Connection Services that Windows uses to manage connections to a VPN.
Remote Access Connection Manager (RASMAN) needs to run in the background for always-on VPNs to work, or VPN users who connect to the internet through dial-up. There will be interference with users’ VPN connections should the service stop working.
Microsoft said: “The Remote Access Connection Manager service may stop working and you may receive the error “0×c0000005″.You may also receive an error in the Application section of Windows Logs in Event Viewer with Event ID 1000 referencing ‘svchost.exe Rasman and ‘rasman dll.”
The issue only occurs when a VPN profile is configured as an Always On VPN (AOVPN) connection with or without device tunnel. This does not affect manual only VPN profiles or connections.”
According to Forbes, estimates that the issue could affect as many as 50 million users, and could be major sources worry for users who must use a VPN for business-related reasons.“We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in late July, said Microsoft.
