Van Dijk beats Sterling, Aubameyang to FSA Player of the Year award

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has won the Football Supporters’ Association Player of the Year award.

Van Dijk has beaten Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, Jamie Vardy and Sadio Mane to the award. The Dutchman’s performance in 2019 was recognized on Monday night with another individual accolade to go with his PFA Players’ Player of the Year, Premier League Player of the Season and UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards.

“I’m very grateful to get this trophy. It means a lot to me,” Van Dijk said. “Thank you to everyone for voting me player of the year, all of the fans around the country.
