‘Ugwuanyi’s two years performance a strong case for second term’

The Chairman Caretaker Committee, Enugu state Association of President General of Town Unions, Mr. Paully Eze has declared that the midterm outstanding performance of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is enough to earn him second term in office.

Eze told newsmen in Enugu that he was amazed that the governor had delivered on some of his campaign promises within two years noting that no administration can do such under this economic condition, “Ugwuanyi has made a strong case for himself for a second term in office.

Eze who was re-elected recently as President General of Ejuona-Obukpa Town Union said no administration has managed Enugu State as prudently as Ugwuanyi has done in the area of payment of workers salary and developing the state.

“Inspite of the recession Enugu State remains one of the few states that is regularly paying workers as well as aggressively carrying out road constructions in the three senatorial zones of the state.

“Both state and local government workers are happy that they get their salaries regularly. There is peace and tranquility in the state. Governor Ugwuanyi has impacted positively on the life of all and sundry in the state. He is a man close to the people, infact he is a man of the people.

“As chairman of President General, I have traversed the length and breadth of the state. From feelers especially from Enugu East and Enugu West senatorial zones people are rooting for the governor‘s second term. Enugu North is sure ready to give the governor one hundred percent support come 2019.

“Enugu State has witnessed tremendous development under Ugwuanyi. The governor has registered his presence in all communities and I can tell you that the recently concluded Visit Every Community, VEC, where he planned to give N10m to each community to carry out projects of their choice was a success.

On the recent decampment of former Governor Sullivan Chime to APC, Barr. Eze said: “Politics is about numbers, I am sure not many people will stick their necks for him.

“2019 poll may not be a walkover in the state quite alright, but I assure you that the former governor is a featherweight that can’t rock PDP’s victory party come 2019.”

Speaking further, Eze said, “Nsukka is an endangered zone, Enugu East has done eight years, Enugu West has also done theirs. Governor Ugwuanyi should be allowed to do the eight years for Enugu North senatorial zone,” he said.
