Two ministers’ preach support for Tinubu at stakeholders’ meeting

Minister, in the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud and other stakeholders’ have called on all Party faithful, to work in unity, and win the forthcoming Area Council election for the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The Ministers’ spoke on Monday in Abuja at an APC critical stakeholders’ Meeting of the six Area Council’s in the Federal Capital City, urging all to bring on board, aggrieved stakeholders and members of the Party.

The Minister of Special Duties, Jisalo said in politics, everyone is important, “we can not have any opposition within ourselves in the FCT APC,” promising to lead the campaign against the PDP and other Parties during the next election in the FCT.

He said: “Let me assure you that my sister, FCT Minister of State, Mrs Mahmoud and I, will work together to ensure a free and fair Primary election in June, this year.

“I am aware that some of our people are not here with us, we are going to look for them and settle all minor disagreements because, in politics, everyone is important.”

In his speech, the FCT Minister of State, Dr Mahmoud, expressed happiness for having opportunity to see the Party’s stakeholders at the meeting, calling for such meetings, regularly to hear directly from the people and plan how to win the entire Abuja for the APC in the forthcoming elections.

“I want to appreciate the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because all of you can testify to the development in the FCT. The infrastructural development, development in Education, Health and and other sector. For me and Minister JIsalo, we promise to do the needful to move our Party forward in the FCT.”

While introducing the new leadership at the ward, Area Councils and the FCT to the gatherings, the APC Zonal Secretary, Yakubu Adamu, who represented the Zonal Chairman, declared that the party is no longer open in the FCT unlike before.

Adamu said: “We are here to tell the entire people of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, the FCT and Nigeria at large, that we now have authentic executive leadership from the Ward, to Area Councils and the FCT.

“We are here to encourage you people, to start the work and by the special Grace of God, you will become our flag bearer and will win the next election in AMAC.”

The APC chieftain, however, urged the FCT State Chairman to set up a disciplinary and Finance Committee, from the Ward, Area Councils and the FCT levels’.

Earlier, the incumbent FCT APC chairman, Abdulmalik Usman, noted that the gathering was meant to discuss the future of APC in the FCT, adding that everything possible will be done to win convincingly, in the future elections adding that; “We are not imposing any candidate on you, we are going to be fair to everyone.

“Some of them, calling us ‘purported leaders,’ sponsored other candidate in the PDP, in 2023.”
