He said the team led by ASP Julius Robinson, conducted a targeted operation in Sapele Town, resulting in the arrest of three suspects identified as Blessing Atima, Destiny Okpako, and Wisdom Akpohirowho. The gang leader, Blessing Atima, aged 23, hails from Jesse Community in Ethiope West LGA of Delta State.

Additionally, items recovered from the suspects have been positively identified by some of their victims. Interrogations have revealed the suspects’ involvement in six armed robbery operations in Sapele. The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.

Also in a separate incident on the 3rd of May 2024, the Delta State Police Command said RRS operatives acted on information regarding suspected robbers sighted in an uncompleted building along Issele-Asagba Express Way. The operatives swiftly moved in and apprehended Usman Bello, aged 40, recovering a locally made fabricated Beretta Pistol from him.

I’m a similar development; the statement added that following a tip-off regarding a group of suspects specializing in shop and house break-ins in Asaba, the Area Commander took swift action on the 4th of June 2024. Acting on the intelligence report that suspects from across the Niger were targeting shops at night, the Area Commander deployed undercover operatives to conduct a discreet operation.

The operation bore fruit when the operatives successfully apprehended two key suspects, identified as Ameachi Micheal, aged 42, from Wuje Street in Port Harcourt, and Ogochukwu Ogbode, aged 38, from Aronomen in Enugu. The arrests took place along DLA road in Asaba. Preliminary investigations have revealed that after looting the shops of their victims, the suspects transported the stolen goods to Port Harcourt for sale.

Edafe noted that efforts are currently underway to trace and apprehend the individuals involved in receiving and selling the stolen items, adding that the police are committed to unraveling the entire network of individuals involved in these criminal activities and bringing them to justice.

The successful arrests underscore the dedication and effectiveness of law enforcement in combating criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of residents in the region. The Delta State Police Command continues to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
