Police apprehend 32 kidnappers in Kano

The Police Force in Kano State has arrested 32 suspected kidnappers and rescued 21 captives. Other items recovered from the suspects included three AK-47 riffles.

The suspects, according to the Commissioner of Police, Abbati Dikko, were arrested during an operation carried out in the southern part of the state, which consisted of Doguwa, Tudun Wada and Sumaila local governments, in order to curtail the spread of kidnapping.

Abbati said that an adequate number of policemen comprising Mobile Police men, Counter Terrorism Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit and covert security operatives were deployed to the affected areas.
