PDP rejects Presidential, National Assembly results in Nasarawa

The People Democratic Party (PDP) Nasarawa state chapter yesterday rejected the outcome of the last Saturdays Presidential and National Assembly election conducted on February23, 2019 in Nasarawa State.
Chairman of the Party, Hon Francis Orogu, made the position known in a press briefing in Lafia the state capital.
He said the ruling party slots of over 15,000 votes in Gayam and Chiroma Ward in Lafia local government area gave the APC an edge to PDP, in the State.
According to him, “it is no longer news that President Buhari has never won in Nasarawa since the returning of democracy in Nigeria in 1999, PDP is a strong party in Nasarawa state.
“If we can reviews Local government area after the other, this state has never lost to any other political party there were cases of over 150 polling unit that were destroyed by APC in Nasarawa State including the Police Barack unit, the same thing happen in St Williams polling unit close to governor Al-Makura house.
“Over 15 thousand votes was slot in just like that in Gayam and Chiroma ward. Our agent told us that The governor dove in to Abacha youth centre, venue of the collation centre and had an intensive discussion with the Senate returning officer Prof. Mohammad Isa Kida, but when Senator, Adokwe went to a ward where election result were manipulated in favour of APC, he was attacked by APC hoodlums in Lafia.
The State PDP chairman said the party will go to court to reclaim their stolen mandate by the APC, he noted.
He blamed the massive Rigging witnessed in some of the polling units where the APC, in connivance with security officials and INEC, warned that PDP will do everything necessary to defend its votes in the forthcoming governorship and state Assembly elections.
“Security operatives connived with INEC officials, we lost the elections because these stakeholders refused to play the role they were supposed to play. What happened in Nasarawa state is not peculiar to us alone but ours was more damaging. The story will not be the same again in the next election.” He noted.
