Oyo REC commends electorate over massive turnout
Mutiu Agboke, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, has commended the people of the state for the massive turnout of voters during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
He gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen after monitoring the exercise in five local government areas in the state.
The five local government areas visited by the REC are Ibadan North, Ibadan South East, Afijio, Oyo West and Oyo East.
According to him, the large turnout of eligible voters in all the polling units visited reflected the people’s patriotism and their commitment to the democratic growth of the nation.
”There was no report of violence or disruption of election whatsoever in any polling unit and we urge the people to sustain the peaceful atmosphere,” he said.
