Oyetola declares Monday as public holiday in Osun to mark Islamic new year

To honor the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1443 AH, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has announced Monday, August 9 as a public holiday.
The information was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, on Friday in Osogbo.
The governor encouraged Muslims and people of all faiths to use the holiday to pray for the state’s and Nigeria’s prosperity and development.
The first day of the Islamic New Year is known as the Hijrah.
