Osun APC Wins 24 Seats, PDP Gets Two as Corps Members Escape Death 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 24 of the 26 seats, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the two seats for Ife Central and Ife East in the Osun State House of Assembly in last Saturday’s election.

In the outgoing assembly, APC has 26 honourables members. The results of the last Saturday State House of Assembly released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed PDP winning.

Those won by APC were Boripe/Boluwaduro, Ifelodun, Ila, Ifedayo, Irepodun/Orolu, Odo Otin, Olorunda, Osogbo, Atakunmosa West and East, Ife-North, Ife-South, Ilesa East, Ilesa-West, Obokun, Oriade, Ayedaade. Others were Ayediire, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Isokan, Iwo, Olaoluwa, and Ejigbo.‎

‎In a related development, the vehicle conveying some corps members was involved in a minor accident when one of its tyres burst close to LA Primary School, along Ajibande, but, there was no casualty.

During the election, there were crises in Obokun and Ile-Ife Local Governments Areas as houses and properties were burnt in Ile Ife over the alleged killing of a PDP supporter.

At Ilase, in Obokun local government area of the state, there was an exchange of gun shots between suspected gunmen and the police. The crisis escalated when one Orimogunje Dare was shot at NUD Primary School, Ilase, when accreditation of voters was about to begin.

When contacted, Commissioner of Police in charge of election in the state, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu, explained that police had to repel the gunmen to restore peace.
