Ojukwu’s son, Debe Odumegwu goes home March 15
The funeral rites of the late Chief Sylvester Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu (Akpunwa Nnewi ), the first son of the late Biafran leader, Chief Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Eze Gburugburu of Igboland has commenced.
The late Sylvester Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu, during his lifetime was an ex- Policeman and a Lagos based Legal Practitioner and Businessman, who graduated from the Faculty of Law of University of Nigeria, Enugu campus in 1985.”
The burial arrangement was released by the late Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu family of Obi Uno village, Umudim , Nnewi North LGA, Anambra State.
According to the release, the burial arrangement of the late Debe who was 62 years old by the time of his death on November 1, 2018 commenced today with a Service of Songs at the Catholic Church of Assumption, Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos by 6.30pm.
Tomorrow 5th of March 2019, there will be a Requiem Service also at the same venue by 10 am while on Thursday March 14th , a Vigil Mass will hold by 5 pm at his Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ancestral Home) in Obi Uno village, Umudim, Nnewi.
The programme of events according to the release also includes a Funeral Mass at Saint John Catholic Church of Akammili , Nnewi North LGA, Anambra State on Friday 15th March with interment at his residence in Eze Ubom village, Umudim same day.
On Saturday March 16th there will be condolence at his residence as well as Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at Saint John Catholic Church of Akammili.
Late Debe is survived by a wife, Mrs Vicky Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu also a Lagos based lawyer and children who include: Grace Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu, Chukwudubem Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu, Sarah Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu and Ifeanyichim Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu.
