House of Assembly election: Vote APC candidates, Oyegun begs Edo people

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie – Oyegun, has appealed to the electorate to vote for all the party’s candidates for the House of Assembly election slated for March 9.

In a statement in Benin yesterday and personally signed by him, the former governor of Edo State said that the State House of Assembly plays a vital role in the decisions that affect the economic and social wellbeing of the people.

He said, “The Presidential and National Assembly elections have come and gone and the APC won. We must now repeat that victory in a more resounding and emphatic way in the forthcoming State House of Assembly election.

“It has come therefore necessary ti make this strong appeal. Each time that I am in Benin, I have observed an overwhelming consensus cutting across all levels of the society that that the governor has performed excellently in all areas of governance and that he does thus with no attempt at self- glorification. Such a man deserves an undiluted legislative support.

‘The reason why this government has been able to  achieve this level of development is precisely because the APC enjoys the majority in the House.

“This message therefore seeks to remind the people of Edo State that a vote for APC in the forthcoming State House of Assembly election is a vote for continuous construction of good roads, a vote for youth job creation , is a vote for quality health care and a vote for sincere and quality governance”.

He appealed to the electorate not to allow any sentiment to affect their voting pattern, saying that they must vote overwhelmingly for all APC candidates for the purpose of ensuring that Governor Obaseki and his team is given the legislative protection and buffer needed to sustain and continue the present pace of development.
