Garden egg is medicinal, says nutritionist

A nutritionist, Mrs Victoria Deghe has said that garden egg is a nutritional fruit with many health benefits that helps fight diseases and nourishes the body.
According to her, Garden eggs also known as Eggplant has many health benefits which are essential for the development of the human body, but most people are unaware of the benefits they can derive from it.
Deghe said “Garden egg is a fruit that has a lot of nutrients and very good for the body. Research carried out on
it showed that its consumption may be of great benefit to glaucoma patients as it reduces eye pressure in persons with glaucoma.
“Garden egg is very low in calorie, that is why it is the perfect recipe for achieving weight loss, within a short period of time. It helps to fight cancers and other horrible diseases and also good for diabetics because of its calorie content. It can be eaten raw or cooked and very yummy when it is used in stew or sauce.”
The nutritionist advised people to eat garden eggs because medicinal to the body.
Studies have shown that garden egg is an anti-cancer fruit and fight other diseases from the body.
She said, “Garden egg is a very good source of dietary fiber, potassium, manganese, copper and Vitamin B1. It is also a good source of Vitamin B6, folate, magnesium and niacin. Garden egg is also known for improving digestive system and also flexibility of the blood vessels.
“People who wants to lose weight can achieve it by consuming plenty of garden eggs. Garden egg has low calorie good for weight management and it helps to reduce the risk of hypertension and controls cholesterol in the body.”
She said, garden egg can be used for the treatment of stomach ulcers and it also regulates blood sugar. ‘Garden egg is a bone strengthening minerals, improves blood circulation, beneficial for constipation due to high fibre and also good for colon health.”
