Enukeme tasks Buhari on epileptic power supply

By John Ndu, Awka
President Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon to seek ways of ending the epileptic power supply in the country.
A frontline industrialist, Dr. Anthony Enukeme, made the call while addressing newsmen at his country home, Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He regretted that inadequate power supply has forced many indigenous companies out of business which he noted is not in the best interest of the country.
According to Dr. Enukeme, addressing the challenges of poor power supply and multiple taxation will go a long way in strengthening the local industries for enhanced productivity, thereby improving the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Dr. Enukeme, who is an Aba based industrialist, equally called on the Federal Government to look into the deplorable condition of its roads especially in the South East geo-political zone for enhanced transportation and business transactions.
On his part, a Lagos based industrialist, Chief Godwin Okafor, called on the government to device means of giving new industries tax holiday of at least five years before they can stabilise in paying tax as being done in Western countries.
Chief Okafor, who is an indigene of Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, called for the establishment of industrial parks in the six geo-political zones of the country for the promotion of goods and services in the country.
For the traditional ruler of Nise in Awka South Local Government Area, Igwe Romanus Iloh, apart from boosting the power generation in the country and improved road transportation, President Buhari should place priority on health care delivery, education, and agriculture for enhanced living standards of the people.
