Edo commissioner urges students to promote their culture and values

As the world celebrates International Day of Culture , Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has urged students to be Culture Ambassadors.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Uyi Oduwa Malaka stated this, when she received students and management of WILBEST Educational Center, in the ministry’s conference room.

She said “Language, music, cuisines, dressing are what defines us as Culture Ambassadors’’.Uyi Oduwa Malaka also enumerated the landmark achievements of Mr. Obaseki in the Arts and Creative space.

The leader of the team, Uzezi Ideho, told the Commissioner that they came to brief her on the outcome of the recently organized TEEN conference which centered on youth behavior, need to promote cultural diversity and moral values.

The courtesy visit climaxed with a presentation of portrait to the Honourable Commissioner, by Master Joshua Marvellous, an SS1 student who is bias in creative art.

In the same vein, the Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Uyi Oduwa Malaka has urged every child to promote their cultural heritage as it’s important for children know where they are coming from because it defines who they are.

She said this in a statement to mark the 2024 International Children’s Day.

The Commissioner who described children as flowers from heaven, urged them to see culture as a total way of life that can build them up in their environment.

The statement further wished every child a day filled with laughter, love and endless possibilities.
