The Adamawa State House of Assembly has announced the defection of the member representing Madagali State Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Tsandu who dumped the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Tsandu who is the Minority Leader said his defection was caused by the long unresolved crisis rocking the PDP between the Ali Modu Sheriff and the Ahmed Makarfi led factions.
The member held onto the section of the party’s constitution which stipulated that any card carrying member or political office holder that came through the party structure is free to join or decamp to any party of choice if there is crisis in the party.
The Speaker, Rt Honourable Ibrahim Mijin Yawa and other APC lawmakers in the House amidst joy gave a hearty welcome of hugs and handshakes to the incoming member.
To many PDP member in the Northern Senatorial District of the state, it is a bitter story as the mood of Adams Ayuba who hails from Madagali constituency stated that Emmanuel is a strong politician not only in Madagali but in the entire state and the party should not have missed the star politician.
