Coronation anniversary: Iduoriyekemwen, others hail Benin monarch

As His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolopolo, Oba Ewuare II, marks his first year anniversary on the throne as Oba of Benin Kingdom, members of the Legislature and former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Mathew Iduoriyekemwen, have described Oba Ewuare II as a great reformist, who has come to better the lives of the good people of Edo State.

Iduoriyekemwen said: “I must confess to you that since Oba Ewuare II came on the throne, the good people of Benin have witnessed a tremendous transformation in various issues ranging from land matters, community settlement, above all his giant stride in finding a lasting solution to CDA matters.

“He should be highly commended. Our Oba has also done marvelously well in repositioning the palace, if you visit the Palace now, you feel a sense of belonging, so many new innovations have been brought to the Palace.

There is progress, there is peace, there is accountability, there is integrity, there is good relationship between the Oba and his subjects and above all there is a high level of transparency.”

“Again, the establishment of Benin Traditional Council Customary Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (BCCADRC) and its inauguration by the Oba is a trade mark of good leadership, and something millions of our people have been waiting for and a good omen that has opened up avenues for developments in Benin Land.

Looking at it holistically, it is the Oba that has the sole powers to solve the problem of the land as it relates to land matters, so he has taking the right step and Edo people are very happy with him,

we will continue to support him and erudite members of the committee to ensure justice in the land. Above all, I want to use this opportunity to wish him a long reign in office.”

In the same vein, Hon. Roland Asoro, said: “Oba Ewuare II is a God sent to Edo people, his achievements in his first year in office has demonstrated to us that Edo people have a Digital Oba on the throne.

His scientific ways of handling matters has proven to us that he knows the needs of Edo people. He is not only Oba of Benin, but Oba of all Edo people. You can see that when he took a tour of the 18 Local Government Areas in the State.

We are very elated that God Almighty has blessed us with an Oba that has come to better the lot of his people.”

For Dr. Justin Okonoboh, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, “Oba Ewuare II is a big blessing to the people of Edo land, he has made remarkable achievements within one year on the throne.

He has shown that he has a mission, and that mission is to unite the good people of Edo. He has come to handle Benin Kingdom the way it should be. The Benin Kingdom is known World over and I’m happy that I come from this part of the world. So I congratulate our Oba on his one year anniversary. May he live long for us!”

Meanwhile, Hon. Okunbor Osayande has described the Oba as a man with Eagles eyes, and said his achievements for this one year cannot be quantified. He said the people of Edo are very happy to have an Oba that gives ears to the people.

“We are very happy that our Oba is celebrating his one year anniversary, we join in thanking God Almighty for His Royal Majesty, I congratulate him and wish him a very successful reign,”Osayande stated.
