We’re committed to efficient transportation system – Amosun

The Ogun State Government has re-assured its citizens of efficient and effective public transport system through its renewed commitment to operate the sector in line with global best practices.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Barr. Gbenga Opesanwo, who disclosed this while featuring on a radio programme in Abeokuta, reported by his Media Aide, Mr. Omotola Odutayo, said though transport management was capital intensive, but the present administration was determined to ensure that the system aligned with the urban renewal plan towards easing intra and inter-city transportation in the State.
Speaking on the Bus Mass Transit (BMT) plying Mowe/Ibafo axis, Opesanwo noted that the scheme since it commenced operation had created wealth for the teeming youths of the State, adding that plans were underway to widen the reach of the scheme towards making life more comfortable for commuters across the nooks and crannies of the State.
Opesanwo said the ongoing rural road construction across the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas would further enhance transportation and accessibility to the remote areas.
While calling on the private sector to partner the State government, the Special Adviser noted that effective transport management was being driven by private sector all over the world, adding that government was improving infrastructures in the sector through the introduction of modern traffic gadgets among others.
