Buhari’S Aide Calls for End to Urhobo/Isoko Pipelines Bombing

Bibi Oduku, Coordinator of Niger Delta Security, NDS, the safety wing of President–elect, General Muhammadu Buhari Support Organisation, BSO,  has enjoined aggrieved Urhobo and Isoko ex-militants in Delta State to shun further pipeline vandalism and threats of violence in the Niger Delta region.

When Bibi led members of the group on a courtesy visit to the factional President General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Chief Tuesday Onoge in Warri, alleged that many ex-militants were allegedly shortchanged in the Federal Government’s amnesty programme by the out-going administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that it should however, not be an excuse to go back to the days of pipeline vandalism.

He said: “I have personally made a representation to the incoming government about this issue and I have the assurance that all related cases will be given due attention, but you must first stop the acts and threats of vandalising oil facilities.”

Responding, Chief Onoge expressed delight at Bibi’s effort to bring ex-militants together for the common objective of securing a peaceful environment that will drive the much desired development in the Niger Delta by the incoming government of Buhari.

“If the youths are angry, Niger Delta cannot be peaceful. Therefore, it has become expedient for the youths to forge a common front to achieve peace and attract development,” he said.
