Breaking: Kaduna governor gets applauds for Salary Increase, Free Bus Rides for Workers

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani has received widespread commendations for his recent decision to raise the minimum wage to N72,000 and introduce a free transportation scheme for civil servants in the state.
A group known as Uba Sani Legacies Solidarity Asssembly, chaired by Comrade Habib Bello joined labour and civil society groups in praise of the welfare initiatives, describing them as “historic steps in transforming worker welfare” and positioning Kaduna as a leader in progressive governance.
The new welfare policies, according to the group, offer the much-needed relief to workers across Kaduna. The salary increment, they added, is capable of addressing workers’ economic challenges and ensuring a better standard of living.
“The free transport scheme, which involves the deployment of 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, is set to ease the financial burden of commuting for civil servants”, Bello noted in the statement.

They lauded what they described as Governor Sani’s “unmatched commitment to Kaduna’s workforce,” noting that these policies “demonstrate a bold vision for inclusivity and prosperity.”
According to Bello, these initiatives reflect the governor’s drive to establish a more equitable Kaduna, where workers’ welfare is a priority.
“Governor Sani has set a new benchmark for worker-focused governance in Nigeria,” he stated.
The Legacy Assembly’s commendation is coming on the heels of similar act by civil society leaders and workers’ unions who have variously celebrated the governor’s proactive stance on labor issues. They described the free transport scheme as a pioneering effort, and the wage increase as a sign of his administration’s dedication to creating a stable and supportive environment for workers.
As Kaduna continues to roll out these initiatives, residents and stakeholders have expressed optimism about the impact they will have on both productivity and morale across the state’s workforce.
