Despite the 14 days reprieve given by President Bola Tinubu to over 4,000 property owners in Abuja to pay their outstanding ground rents, the Federal Capital Territory Authority has refused to unlock the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The PDP secretariat at the time of filing this report, Tuesday morning, remained sealed while adjourning properties such as offices of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) have been unsealed.

The Daily Times recalled that the party headquarters situated inside Wadata Plaza in Zone 5 area of Abuja was on Monday sealed alongside other properties by the FCTA for owing ground rent payments in arrears.

But in a swift response to the outcry that greeted the development, President Tinubu ordered that owners of properties in question should be given 14 days relief to pay up their outstanding.
