Biffo lauds win against El Kanemi

Niger Tornadoes head coach Abdul Usman Biffo has lauded his side’s performance against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.
The newcomers pipped the Maiduguri landlords 1-0 in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 14 clash at their adopted ground, Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
Bolaji Adeyemo scored the match winner in the 76th minute to hand his side the much needed three points in the encounter.
“It was a nice contest and well-deserved victory for Niger Tornadoes.
“We almost earned a decent result at Lobi Stars in Makurdi at the weekend but ended up giving away the points due to anxiety on the part of the players.
“The error almost reared its ugly head in Sunday’s clash against El Kanemi Warriors, which explained the long wait for the goal though the visitors did not help matters with their delaying tactics.
“El Kanemi Warriors gave a good account of themselves in the encounter but Tornadoes were clearly the better side.
“Our focus now shift to the clash at champions Enyimba.
“Enyimba have drawn their last two home matches against their neighbours, Heartland and Lobi Stars, which will make the duel really tough.
“However, we are positive we will get a decent result, perhaps end our search for an away win at Enyimba,” said the former Giwa FC and Kogi United coach.
The victory against the Maiduguri outfit takes the Minna landlords’ total earning to 17 points from a possible 42 in the 14-week-old top flight.
