Anambra State PDP re-unites under Prince Emeakayi

The day was 25th of July, 2017; the event was the reunification of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Anambra State under the leadership of Prince Ken Emeakayi. And the venue was the Marble Arch Hotels, Awka. It was a day that you need no prophet to tell you that PDP is still the leading party in Anambra State, if numbers really count in democracy.

In his introductory speech, Prince Emeakayi pronounced that “PDP is back and better, back to reclaim what is ours, back to our state that we temporarily lost because we made some mistakes here and there. We are back to the state that rightly belongs to us.

And on the heels of the victory of Senator Ahmed Makarfi at the Supreme Court and to the glory of God, I, Ken Emeakayi, today, being the 25th day of July, 2017, assure you all that come the 18th of November, 2017, that PDP will reclaim the Government House in Anambra State,” he exclaimed.

He also informed the party members that PDP would hold her National Ward Congress on the 8th and the Local Government Congress on the 10th, all in August.

The State Chairman explained that while ”the Ward Congress gives root to our party, especially the 326 wards in Anambra State; the LG Congress is for the National Convention of the party to try to retain our brother, Senator Ben Obi as the National Secretary, Senator Ahmed Makarfi as our Chairman, Olisa Metuh and the other national officers to continue in office.”

Prince Emeakayi declared that henceforth “the National Working Committee has authorised that any party member is free to contest the governorship election in the state and we have no new or old member.”

He told his party members that those members who ran away are free to come back. “I hereby flag-off the membership drive exercise. And as the Bible says, you all are now the fishers of men for PDP. Go to APGA, APC, UPP and any other party and bring them back to PDP because PDP is Anambra and Anambra is PDP.

Do not exclude anybody. I have a prize for the highest number of new members by any ward executive which is one million naira; the second prize is half a million and the third one is three hundred thousand naira.”

On a final note, Prince Emeakayi sounded it loud and clear that “PDP will not enter any alliance with any party in this election.” He cautioned that any member found romancing any other party will be severely dealt with. “We PDP lose elections because PDP fails or betrays herself in most elections,” he rounded up.
