Kwara PDP elders mourn Emir of Ilorin’s mother

The Elders’ Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari over the death of his mother, Hajiya Aishat Gambari.
The forum led by its Chairman, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oleshin prayed to Allah to grant the emir and his family the strength to go through the hard situation.
Oleshin, who noted that mothers stay in a very special part of their children’s hearts even after they pass on, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the queen mother.
According to him, the forum visited the palace to deliver the message of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who had not be able to come due to a national engagement.
He described the late Hajiya Gambari as a devout mother and committed Muslim, who impacted positively on the people of the emirate.
He prayed to Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanat firdaus while he sought for the emir and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hajiya Gambari died on Monday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital at the age of 96. The deceased, who is the mother of the 11th Emir of Ilorin, was a daughter to the eighth emir of Ilorin and married to the ninth emir of Ilorin.
Responding, the emir praised the elders for associating with him and his family during their period of grief.
Others members of the elders’ delegation were Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, the secretary; Alhaji Jimoh Adeshina, the Kwara Central Senatorial District chairman, Alhaji Musa Yeketi, a former commissioner for education and Alhaji Oba Ajara among others.
