Kano disburses phase 2 of appeal funds for fire victims

Kano State Government has launched the second Phase of disbursement of appeal funds to yet another 666 victims of fire disasters in the State.
The State which recently launched the first phase of the exercise, presented 6000 victims drawn from the affected markets with cheques.
Launching the exercise at his office, the State Acting Governor, also Chairman of the Appeal Funds Committee, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, said the donation from the State Government and other individuals was meant to alleviate the condition of the affected victims.
Hafiz disclosed that the fire victims were drawn from 10 affected Markets where the fire incidents occurred, adding that his Committee would remained firm in ensuring that all the fire victims collect their cheques.
He further urged the affected persons to be patient and continue to cooperate with the Committee to enable it discharge its responsibilities effectively.
According to him, the affected Markets include Tempolin Yankamiya Abubakar Rimi Market, Kantin Kwari Market, Rijiyar Lemo Market and Yankatako Rijiyar Lemo.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industries, Cooperatives and Tourisium, Alhaji Ahmed Rabi’u applauded the administration of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for setting up the committee which he said, had played tremendous roles in assisting the fire victims and assured them of the Government’s continues support to improve their businesses.
Recall that the Kano was plaque with series of fire disaster out breaks in various markets across the state during which goods and other properties worth billions were destroyed.
