The youths of Young Democratic Party (YDP), in Owerri, Imo state, yesterday went to the major markets in the town to campaign for their governorship candidate, Hon. Myke Ikoku and his deputy governor candidate, Mr. Jude Opara.
The youths on their crested green T-shirts, went to Amakohia market, Ihiagwa market, Relief market, Alaba International market, etc, in Owerri, giving people reasons to vote for Hon. Myke Ikoku, as the next governor of Imo state.
When interviewed by Daily Times, a member of the group, Mr. Mbazigwe Davidson Asikaogu, said the campaign is to make sure the market women and traders know the reasons why they should come out in mass to vote for Hon. Myke Ikoku, as the next governor of Imo state, noting that no other governorship candidate is better than Myke Ikoku.
“Elect Myke Ikoku and Jude Opara to govern Imo and have the market forces influence the economy of the state; elect Myke Ikoku and Jude Opara and have the market mechanisms function in Imo;
elect Myke Ikoku and Jude Opara and have the economy of Imo revived”, YDP youths preached.
The youths also asked the traders and market women “to join the revolution today, and enjoy true governance in Imo state”.
Mrs. Angelina Okafor, who deals on wears, at Alaba International market, Nekede, told Daily Times that she will vote for Myke Ikoku, because the people of Imo state need true change.
Mr. Festus Mezuo, who has a provision store, said, voting Myke Ikoku is not his problem, but his problem is, if the powers that be, will allow him win or be the next governor of Imo state?
