Two men sentenced to clean Abuja court premises for one week

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja, has sentenced Sunday Wudarna and Shedrack Danjuma to clean the court’s premises for one week after they were found guilty of house breaking and theft.

The Magistrate Farida Ibrahim, however, warned them to desist from committing crime and be of good behaviour.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the police charged Wudarna and Danjuma with joint act, criminal trespass, shop breaking and theft which they pleaded guilty to.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Samuel Emmanuel told the court that the complainant, Afamafuna Anira reported the matter at Mabushi Police Station on Aug.25.

Emmanuel said that Wudarna and Danjuma broke into the complainant’s welding shop and stole 15 window protectors valued N975,000 and iron valued N300,000.

Other items include door protector valued N180,000, window protector valued N280,000 and ladder valued N120,000.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of section 79, 347,348 and 288 of the Penal Code.

Wudarna and Danjuma, however, begged the court for mercy.(NAN)
