The script of success

The great library of Alexandria, Egypt, which was destroyed by Julius Caesar’s army in 47BC, is said to have 600,000 papyrus scrolls – virtually all the recorded knowledge in the world at that time. However, what do we have today?  The whole world is lolling in euphoria of massive information. Never before, in human history has there been so much information. To many of us in this part of the world, this may sound quite strange. We live in an exciting world where people in the western world are achieving wondrous things by just taking advantage of the Information Age.
As I write, there are available at the tap of your screen highly valued information, which anybody can access to improve your life.
We live in world connected by cyberspace. So, for those of us living in Nigeria, what are we doing with all the information? I submit that all of these unimaginable opportunities bestow upon us an exigent responsibility to write the script of our lives and act out our written scripts.
For so many years one question that I have asked over again is; why is it that some people are genuinely making lots of money why majority of people are always complaining and barely get a meal to eat in a day? Moreover, through my personal research, observations and experience, I can say without doubt that no true success is an accident. Since others have made it, I too can make it. I believe one of the best way to become successful in this age is for you to be a good screenwriter a good actor/actress. In addition, to tell the secret, script writing is an exercise in imagination. You have to create an image of the kind of person you want to become.
Your future must be a preview of your imagination. You have to design with your mind’s eye the kind of the future you want and move towards it. This is how the winners are playing out the game of success. You have to create an image of your future. You can picture the future that you can feature.
For you to properly picture your future you must ask two important questions; firstly, who am I? This is where you properly identify and define yourself. The truth is that nobody truly knows who you are except yourself. Something happened recently that led me to this concept. People know me as a prolific writer and a speaker but nobody knows I have written almost two thousand new songs. Therefore, when I announced the release of my first album after over 20 years of working on it, one of my friends wrote ” Is Matthew also among the prophets”. The truth is that I have been an excellent singer for 30 years!
I love what Oprah Winfrey said ” there is a secret calling on your life, and the question is; will you spend your life filtering and fluttering about, or take the time and really heed that call and create your own path to your highest good… You cannot let other people define your life for you. You are the author of your own life”. I challenge you today to take a touch, search within your heart, and truly discover whom you are. This is the beginning of your greatness. What makes you unique from others? What makes you different will set you apart. As you read this column, can you see anybody writing like the way I’m writing?
The question of identity also deals with values. What are the non-negotiable values of your life? Successful people have values and they bind themselves to their values while failures are those without values in life. For the toilers of life anything goes. Therefore, for you to experience success, you must identify the things that are most important to you and live out such values every day.
The second for you to properly picture and act out your future is; what do I really want in life?  For you to become relevant, you must clearly define what you want in life. It is when you know what you want that you can plan how to get it. Without a clearly defined plan, you are like a ship adrift in the ocean. If you do not know where you are going every wind will lead you there.
Action is what unites all  successful people in life. Many of us see successful people and we think there are lucky.
I challenge you today to identify who exactly you are, plan and decide what you want and start to take massive action and you will be met with success beyond your wildest imagination.
