Still on speed limiting device

THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has started enforcing the use of speed limiting device from the beginning of this month. While the organisation has good intention, going by the high rate of accidents on our roads, it shouldn’t add to the burden of Nigerians who are already suffering as a result of this tough economic period.

Instead of the FRSC to arrest or detain vehicles that are yet to procure the device, I think it should rather work with banks towards making it easier for motorists to obtain the device.

One good thing about this device is that it is fitted to a mobile telephone, and this means anybody who has been assisted to acquire it cannot ‘abscond’ without paying for the product.

I believe those we have at the helm of affairs of the FRSC are godly people, and it is important they work with the fear of God.

I hope the Corps Marshal, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, can discuss this suggestion with his top officers, and a tangible decision will come from there.
