Senators Adokwe, Abdul, Tafida emerge PDP flag bearers in Nasarawa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), senate primaries conducted across the state yesterday was won by Senator Suleiman Adokwe, Nasarawa south, Michael Abdul, Nasarawa North and Aliu Baba Tafida who clinched the Nasarawa west senatorial districts ticket respectively
Adokwe who is a serving senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial district contested and beat his closest opponent, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, in strong contested primaries held in the PDP Secretariat Lafia.
The electoral committee chairman, Dr Anugbum Onuorah announced that Adokwe polled 287 votes to beat Ogoshi-Onawo who secured 255 votes from a total of 542 votes casted.
Meanwhile, former deputy Governor of the state, chief Michael Abdul has been declared winner of the PDP ticket for the Nasarawa North senatorial Zone.
He defeated Barrister Innocent Lagi, Sule Mama, Lawrence Nasela and one Mr. Adagazu to pick the ticket.
Daily Times also gathered that Aliyu Bala Tifida of Nasarawa Local Government Council in the Western Senatorial zone of the state picked the PDP ticket for next year general elections.
He defeated Lawal Mohammed and ktso Ngarighu in the contest.
