Sanwo-Olu assures APC aspirants who lost primary they will be accommodated in his govt

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pleaded with all aspirants on the party platform who participated in the last primary but lost to be patient with the party and work for its success in the 20219 elections, assuring that they will be accommodated within the system when after the election.

Sanwo-Olu who spoke when he made a brief stop at a special session with political stakeholders in the office of the Deputy Director General of the Buhari/Sanwo Olu Independent Campaign Organization for Lagos West, noted that, “we know many aspirants still have misgiving over the last primaries,

but such would be pacified, ‘trademoni’ is coming to Alimosho and other parts of the district, I will be coming with the Vice President for that disbursement, either Monday or Tuesday, we know how important the district is politically.

“We need a formidable house not a divided one, all the big issues like that of Badagry road shall be tackled, we shall do the needful once we are voted in, the best will be secured for Lagos.

“Many aspirants purchased forms and vied to be party’s candidates at the primaries, 240 for House of Assembly people aspired, but 40 got the ticket of the party, same with 120 who vied for Reps having paid for forms,

so all those who were not favoured at the primaries will be considered for total victory to be guaranteed for our party,” Sanwo-Olu affirms.

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Director General of the Buhari/Sanwo Olu Independent Campaign Organization for Lagos West, Hon. Moshood Salvador, charged the All Progressives Congress (APC), members in the state to close ranks and persevere so as to ensure total victory for the party in the general election.

Salvador also urged them to ensure no rift or internal wrangling is allowed to fester any further within the party, citing it as a challenge that needs be dealt with early enough before going to the polls.

According to him, the political fortune of the party can only be improved upon when everybody is on the same page.

Drawing a sample from the last gubernatorial election in Lagos State, Salvador noted that APC’s victory this time must be with convincing wide margin of votes higher than that of the opposition party.

“How can we defeat PDP by more than 1million votes? That should be our target, if PDP has 500,000 votes we should have 1.5million,nit is possible for us, leaders gathered here have been the ones resolving crisis in the wards, local government and state in time past, now we don’t want rift in our camp, so as to secure more votes.

“Let’s not fight ourselves, but rather persevere so as to achieve our target, no distraction should be entertained, don’t relegate anybody, treat them equally for they have equal electoral value.

“Lagos West is our major problem, we lost Ajeromi, Ojo, Oshodi and Amuwo Odofin Reps due to unresolved internal wrangling, that informed why we need not fight ourselves.”

Salvador who was inaugurated into the position officially by Cardinal James Odumbaku, who handed him and his subordinates in Lagos West certificates and spelt out their functions and roles as Mr. Tayo Ayinde remains the Director General of the group delegated.

Odumbaku noted that the BOSCO group has been fused into the campaign organisation given its widened scope and Moshood Salvador is now the D.D.G Lagos West, Otunba Yetunde Arobieke (Kosofe) is D.D.G Lagos East and Hon. Alawiye King (Lagos Island) D.D.G Lagos Central.

Leaders across the district present at the meeting also includes, Rabiu Oluwa, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun,Hon. Jumoke Okoya Thomas Woman Leader, Hon. Olohunoje, Hon. Mafe, Comrade Sesan Daini, Apostle Ojelabi, among others.
