Ramadan: Police warns against provocative sermons, assures of adequate security in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has issued a strong warning to persons delivering sermons and lectures or preaching against the use of provocative and inciting languages during the month of Ramadan and beyond.
It said it has put in place measures to monitor all activities in places of worship to checkmate the occurrence of such cases which could lead to the breakdown of law and order and will act swiftly whenever the need arise.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the command’s public relation officer DSP Majia Musa on Thursday at the command’s headquarters, Bompai.
The command assured that adequate security arrangements has been made to ensure peaceful conduct and protection of life and property across the state throughout the blissful month of Ramadan and beyond.
Contemporary measures were put in place to tackle the new trends of criminal activities and other social vices consequently, the need for maximum cooperation between the people of the state and security agencies.
Mosques security committees are advised to liaise with DPOs in their areas to ensure provision of effective security during Tafsir or any form of worship throughout the period and beyond.
The command calls on the good people of the state to use the period to pray for the command, the state and nation at large for peace and economic development.
