Protest: Alvan Ikoku College inaugurates investigation c’ttee

The management of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri, Imo State, has inaugurated a 12-man committee to investigate the cause and ascertain the extent of damage recorded by the institution following students’ violent protest by the students last Monday.

Provost of the College, Dr. (Mrs.) Blessing Ijioma, in a chat with newsmen, on Wednesday, said that management inaugurated the committee due to the magnitude of destruction and looting perpetuated by the rampaging students.

It was gathered that the protest by the students came the day they were to commence the second semester examination.

The students  went on rampage following the school authority’s directive preventing male students from visiting female hostels beyond 7 pm or female visiting male hostels beyond 7:00pm.
