Poverty main cause of crisis in Adamawa, acting gov tells community leaders

The Adamawa state acting governor, Engr Martins Babale, has described poverty as the main cause of ethnicity crisis in the state and the country at large.
Babale said this when a delegation of Tambu community led by its leader, Christopher Jalo, paid him a courtesy visit in the Government House, Yola.
The acting governor who stated that the sole aim of any government is to take care of her people, assured his visitors that the state government will look into their request as soon as the governor returns from his vacation.
While enjoining them to live in peace and unity, Babale advised them to caution their children and wards against taking hard drugs but let them be productive and earn a living as anybody that is poor should blame himself.
Be united so we can collectively conquer the scourge of poverty,” the acting governor said.
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Jalo said that the visit was a solidarity to the governor and to thank him for ensuring that his government is for all the people of the state.
He however lamented how the government abandoned the people of Tambo when suspected Fulani herdsmen over ran their entire community where many were displaced, hundreds of houses got burnt and people deserted the community for fear of another attack.
He called on the government to come to their aid as many of them are still struggling to survive after the devastating effects of the attacks.
