Plateau federal lawmaker Beni Lar, to fight poverty through SME
The member representing Plateau State, Langtang North/ Langtang South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Beni Lar has said he will leverage on Small Medium Enterprise (SME), to fight and eradicate poverty in her constituency.
Lar said the fight against poverty among women and youths is critical for the survival of Nigeria.
“Wth SME we will have forest of entrepreneurs to end poverty in Langtang”.
The Rep member stated this on Thursday while declaring open a two weeks training workshop for women and youths on Waste to Wealth Management and Production of Cosmetics, held in Langtang North Local Government Area in the State.
Represented by the Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Hon. Joshua-Laven, Lar said poverty and unemployment has been the bane of underdevelopment in the state.
“The fight against poverty is crucial to our survival and Small Medium Enterprises is the answer, we believed that SME can make us and our nation sufficient especially women and youths.
“In Nigeria today, we need to embrace the SME and that is why we are training over 1,050 women and youths in various acquisitions such as cosmetic and soap production, production of solar panel among others.”
She said that politicians often use women and youths during campaigns and dumped them after victory urging the people to take advantage of the skills acquisitions to be self reliance and economic independent.
Beni Lar urged the women and youths to shun all forms of social vises, prostitution, armed robbery and other forms of criminality.
